The 2025 season of the Lower Mainland Men’s Fastpitch League (LMFL) continues to deliver thrilling matchups, and Week 3 was no exception. From standout pitching to big bats, teams across the league are finding their rhythm as the early-season standings begin to take shape.
Richmond Athletics Remain Rock-Solid
In a tightly contested game at London/Steveston Park, the Richmond Athletics edged out the Connaught Jazz by a score of 3–1.
Darren Strang led the way for Richmond on the mound, earning the win with a composed and efficient outing, while Sandy Doyle launched a solo home run that proved to be the difference-maker.
Connaught’s Caleb Koko was tagged with the loss despite keeping his team within striking distance throughout.
Lomas Offense Erupts Against Ladner
Over at South Hill, the Vancouver Lomas continued their strong form with a convincing 7–0 shutout of the Ladner Masters.
Derek Mayson dominated on the rubber, holding Ladner off the basepaths and setting the tone early. Clint Taylor delivered the biggest swing of the night, smashing a two-run homer that opened the floodgates and helped secure the win.
Connaught Rangers Take Intra-Club Victory
In an all-Connaught showdown, the Rangers came out on top with a 7–3 win over the Meralomas. Strong defense and timely hitting allowed the Rangers to control the tempo from the second inning onward, keeping their momentum alive in the standings.
Rebels Ride a No-Hitter to Victory
One of the most electric performances of the season came from the Surrey Rebels, who defeated the Steveston Canadians 6–1 behind an outstanding effort from D. Fraser-List.
The Rebels pitcher threw a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts, showcasing complete command over the zone. Offensively, B. Weatherly had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with 1 RBI, helping Surrey put the game out of reach early.
Rain Halts Rays vs. Meralomas
Unfortunately, the much-anticipated matchup between the Richmond Rays and Connaught Meralomas was rained out and will be rescheduled at a later date.
